Pennsbury Manor will celebrate Pennsylvania’s birthday by opening the gates of William Penn’s former estate to the public at no admission cost.

The event, which takes place on the state’s Charter Day, will run on on Sunday, March 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the 43-acre historic site along the Delaware River.
Admission is free, but organizers are asking attendees to consider donating non-perishable food items for the Penndel Food Pantry.
Visitors can tour the Manor House and observe 17th-century trade demonstrations, including blacksmithing, woodworking, spinning, and open-hearth cooking. The day’s programming also features colonial dancing and performances by the Living History Theater troupe.

The estate’s resident farm animals will also be available for visits.
In addition to the historical demonstrations, several local organizations will be on-site to discuss upcoming plans for “Bucks250,” the local celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

The celebration is scheduled to take place rain or shine.
While the event is primarily outdoors, the Visitor Center will be open, featuring an award-winning indoor exhibit and a gift shop.
Free parking is available in the lot located in front of the Visitor Center.

The Brew Note Coffee Co. truck will be stationed outside the Visitor Center. Water and Gatorade will be available for purchase in the gift shop.
Annual memberships for Pennsbury Manor, which support educational programming for local students and include tickets to events like Holly Nights, will be available for purchase.
