The production, which is based on the 1988 Tim Burton film, will run at the school’s Lou Volpe auditorium starting Thursday.
Truman in Bristol Township has been selected as the first of only four schools worldwide to pilot Beetlejuice before Music Theatre International opens licensing to the general public.
“The cast and crew will have many opportunities to work with new techniques and exhaust their creative solutions to bring this show to life,” said Tracey Gatte, a theater educator at the school.

To prepare for the pilot performances, Gatte and 50 members of the Truman Drama cast, crew, and staff recently traveled to New York City to see the production on Broadway.
The musical comedy follows Lydia Deetz, an unusual teenager obsessed with death, who discovers her new home is haunted by a recently deceased couple and a demon named Beetlejuice. After Lydia enlists the demon to scare away the living, the “double-crossing specter” unleashes a “Netherworld of pandemonium,” according to production notes.
