The wreck occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-95, just past the Bristol Exit in Bristol Township.

Troopers determined that a 2021 Honda Civic, which was driven by a 28-year-old man, veered off the highway and struck the center median near the bridge spanning the Neshaminy Creek.

After the crash, the Honda came to a rest and the driver moved from the operator’s seat to the passenger seat, state police said.

Upon the arrival of troopers, the man reportedly claimed he had been a passenger in the car and told authorities that the driver had fled the scene.

State police said they concluded that his statement was untrue and that the man was the sole occupant and driver at the time of the crash.
