Egan is challenging Republican incumbent Joe Hogan for the 142nd Legislative District seat.

Egan, a veteran educator, enters the race for one of the state’s most competitive legislative districts with a platform centered on education funding reform, public safety, and the rising cost of living.

“I am running for state representative because I am focused on this district’s future,” Egan said. “As a parent, teacher, and small business owner, I have made it my life’s work to build a brighter future for my community.”

A lifelong resident of Lower Bucks County, Egan has taught in public schools for more than 20 years. Her experience includes roles as a union officer, curriculum coordinator, and chief negotiator. She previously acted as a Title I Coordinator and currently serves on the Neshaminy School Board.

Egan took aim at the state’s current education funding model, arguing that the lack of state-level support has unfairly shifted the financial burden onto local taxpayers.

“Pennsylvania legislators have not properly funded education in decades,” Egan said. “The burden has fallen on local residents through incessant school district tax increases. Our seniors on fixed incomes deserve to retire with dignity, and not be taxed out of their homes.”

If elected, Egan pledged to pursue “common sense policies” to address housing affordability and strengthen the local economy.

Egan’s husband owns a local HVAC company and is part of Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 19.

Egan is a 1999 graduate of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Holy Family University. She lives in Lower Bucks County with her husband and school-age daughters.

Egan is looking to face off in the general election against Hogan, who first secured the seat by a slim margin in 2022. Hogan won reelection in 2024 and expanded his margin of victory.
