“The Net Will Appear” is a play that follows a lonely man and his unexpected friendship with his 9-year-old neighbor.

The play was written by Erin Mallon and is being directed by Amy Kaissar with assistance from Teayra Bowden.

Ken Kaissar, the co-producing director at Bristol Riverside Theatre, explained that “The Net Will Appear” is a show that spotlights friendships occurring even in unlikely places.

“‘The Net Will Appear’ is a beautiful, intimate piece that speaks to trust, resilience, and the unexpected connections that shape our lives,” Kaissar said. “Erin Mallon’s writing is both deeply human and quietly powerful, and Amy has assembled an extraordinary team of artists to bring this story to life on our stage.”

Bristol Riverside Theatre’s new production features Richard B. Watson, a frequent collaborator with the theater. Watson recently ended a run in “Everything Beautiful Happens at Night” at the Capital Stage in Sacramento, California.

Bristol Riverside Theatre audiences may best remember Watson for his work in the theatre’s productions of “A Christmas Story: The Play,” where Watson played Ralph, and “A Few Good Men”, where he played Col. Jessep.
