Officials at Pennsbury High School increased security measures on campus Monday after a social media comment made by a staff member drew scrutiny.

In a message addressed to parents, Principal Reggie Meadows characterized the heightened security as a precautionary move.

The decision came after several high-profile political X, formerly Twitter, users made posts about a comment from an employee’s private social media account regarding a political event.

Meadows told parents that there is no evidence of a direct danger to the school.

“We are not aware of any threats, just some inappropriate comments, so it does fall under our typical security notification protocol,” Meadows wrote of the reaction.

Meadows told parents that the administration chose to implement the extra safety measures “out of an abundance of caution.”

“We are taking this proactive step,” he added.
