PennDOT officials announced that the closure will affect the stretch of Brownsville Road between Playwicki Street and Broadview Avenue. Work is scheduled for weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to continue through June 30.
During work hours, motorists will be detoured via Old Lincoln Highway, Maple Avenue/Bridgetown Pike (Route 213), and Bristol Road.
While through-traffic will be redirected, PennDOT confirmed that local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

The Brownsville Road bridge, which will be called the U.S. Army Private First Class George Raymond Huntzinger Bridge, over the Neshaminy Creek is currently closed due to a reconstruction project.
PECO’s project focuses on the Langhorne section of the township and will focus on Brownsville Road, Butterworth Lane, Colonial Drive, and Old Lincoln Highway.
According to PECO, the upgrades are designed to improve overall service reliability for area residents.

In a recent advisory to neighbors, PECO stated that crews and contractors will be installing new underground conduits and electrical cables. The scope of work may also include the installation or replacement of pad-mounted transformers.
Utility officials noted that while they intend to temporarily restore any streets or yards impacted by construction, the project may require brief, planned service interruptions.
