Hogan, a Republican who lives in the Langhorne section of Middletown Township, said his campaign will focus on addressing the economic challenges facing local families, seniors, and small businesses.

“Our families face incredible challenges today,” Hogan said. “I’ve been fighting in Harrisburg to lower costs and deliver victories for our families, our seniors, and our small businesses.”

In an announcement video, Hogan attributed “many” of the issues frustrating residents to Washington D.C., citing the rising costs of health care, housing and groceries.

During his time in Harrisburg, Hogan supported measures to decrease income taxes and provide financial assistance for first-time homebuyers, according to his campaign.

Looking toward a potential third term, the representative said he intends to pursue steps to improve student test scores, advocate for fair teacher pay, and work to reduce energy costs. He added that he would seek these reforms without raising taxes on working families or small businesses.

In what is expected to be a difficult election year for Republican candidates in moderate districts, Hogan highlighted in his announcement his belief in a bipartisan approach to problems.

“I’ve consistently been ranked as one of the most independent house members in Harrisburg, working with anyone who wants to help our community,” Hogan said. “We’ve delivered record funding for our schools, supported lower income taxes for working families and small businesses, and provided real relief for first-time home buyers.”

Hogan first won the seat in 2022 by a narrow margin before securing a second victory in 2024 by a more significant lead.

The 142nd House District covers Langhorne, Langhorne Manor and Penndel boroughs, Lower Southampton Township, and portions of Middletown and Northampton townships.

A Levittown native and graduate of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School, Hogan earned a law degree and previously served as the program director for the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County. He had worked for the late U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick in both Bucks County and Washington.
