The Pennsbury High School cheerleading team returned to the West Campus to a parade of police, ambulances, and fire trucks after winning big at the National Cheerleaders Association High School Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas, a few days ago.
The Pennsbury team secured first place in the Advanced Varsity Crowd Leading Small division as they faced off against top programs from across the country.
The school’s junior varsity squad also saw success at the event and finished in fifth place.

Coach Nicole Lawrence told CBS 3 the win came after hard work that began long before the team arrived in Texas.
“We put in so much time all season. We’re at the gym four to five days a week,” Lawrence said to CBS 3. “All the blood, the sweat, the tears, it was all worth it.”

In addition to their performance on the mat, the Pennsbury team was honored with the Go Be Great Award, which recognized the program’s focus on community service.
A major winter storm over the weekend disrupted the competition schedule and caused travel delays for several teams, including the Pennsbury crew.
