Towns Declare Snow Emergency Ahead Of Weekend Storm

Ahead of the weekend storm that could bring 8 to 16 inches of snow to the area through Monday morning, several Levittown-area municipalities have declared snow emergencies.

Below is the message from Bristol Township:

Bristol Township has declared a Snow Emergency due to a potential significant winter storm this weekend.

Effective:

๐Ÿ•• Through 6:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2026

Forecasts show the potential for heavy snowfall, including double-digit accumulations starting Sunday. We are issuing this notice now so you have time to prepare.

This is critical. Please remove all cars, trucks, boats, and trailers from all township streets before the storm begins.

Keeping streets clear allows emergency vehicles to reach residents without delay and allows Public Works to plow and treat roads safely and effectively.

Parking on grass is allowed during the Snow Emergency.

You may park vehicles on your lawn or yard without concern for code enforcement violations for the duration of the Snow Emergency.

๐ŸŽBefore the storm, gather food, water, and medications. Travel may be unsafe and stores may close.

๐Ÿ’ง Set aside at least 1 gallon of drinking water per person per day.

โ˜ƒ๏ธ Have a snow shovel and ice-melting products ready for walkways.

โšก๏ธ Emergency Go-Kit: At least 3 days of supplies if you must leave home. Include backup batteries and chargers for phones and medical devices.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Stay-at-Home Kit: At least 2 weeks of supplies, including warm clothing, hats, mittens, and blankets.

๐Ÿš— Keep a blanket, warm clothing, boots, a first aid kit, and basic emergency supplies in your vehicle.

Township officials and emergency management staff are coordinating response efforts to protect public safety and restore essential services.

Falls Township has declared a Snow Emergency, starting Saturday, 1/24/26 at 9 p.m., expiring on Monday, 1/26/26 at 9 p.m.

All vehicles, boats, trailers, etc. must be moved off all township streets on to your property so emergency vehicles and plows can safely navigate down your street.

Also, the township parks will be closed from dusk on Saturday, 1/24/26 until such time as they can be plowed and made safe.

Hulmeville Borough:

Mayor Debbie Mahon issued a snow emergency until “storm conditions cease.” All vehicles need to be removed from borough streets and posted snow emergency routes. All sidewalks nee to be cleared within 12 hours after the snow stops falling.

Below is the message from Langhorne Borough:

Mayor Truchil has declared a snow emergency from midnight on Sunday the 25th to 9:00 p.m. on Monday the 26th. During this time, it is unlawful for any vehicles to be parked in the street until 24 hours after snowfall has ended.

Below is the message from Penndel Borough:

Penndel Borough Mayor has declared a Snow Emergency for the approaching storm effective on 01-24-2026 at 7:00 pm & ending 01-26-2026 at 1:00 pm Please remove vehicles from streets to allow plows to remove snow. Those residents with no off-street parking shall park on even side of the street. Once the plow has come through please move vehicles to the odd side of the street. Please clear all sidewalks within 12 hours after snow ceases to fall.

Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency Friday afternoon:

The Governorโ€™s disaster declaration will allow the Commonwealth to quickly draw down funding and provide state agencies with the resources needed to assist counties and municipalities as with response efforts. Anyone who is able should stay off the roads โ€“ and those who must travel should plan ahead, and follow direction from PEMA, PennDOT, PSP, and local authorities.
