

A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while walking with a group of children.

Falls Township police responded to the report of a pedestrian accident near the intersection of West Trenton Avenue and Valarie Road in the Morrisville section of the township at approximately 1:30 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, a group of elementary-aged children was walking along the shoulder of West Trenton Avenue when the boy, a Fallsington resident, ran into the roadway.
A 22-year-old Robbinsville, New Jersey, woman was driving a Mazda CX5 toward Lincoln Highway when she attempted to steer away from the child but was unable to avoid the collision.

Police said the boy struck the vehicle’s front bumper and hood before landing on the roadway.
The boy was taken by ambulance to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township.

The driver was not injured in the incident, police said.
Investigators said they do not believe alcohol, drugs, or a medical emergency were factors in the crash.
