A Bristol Township man was arrested last week after a months-long investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the area.

Robert G. Kostaras Jr., 50, was arrested last Wednesday by the Bensalem Township Police Department Special Investigations Unit.
Kostaras is charged with several offenses, including manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; possession of a controlled substance; and criminal use of a communication facility.
The investigation began in June when an informant alerted police to Kostaras’ alleged involvement in local methamphetamine distribution.

According to court papers, Kostaras was already known to investigators from previous police contacts, and additional informants had also alleged he was selling drugs.
To monitor activity at Kostaras’ Manning Boulevard residence, investigators installed a covert camera near the property, police said.

Surveillance reportedly revealed heavy foot traffic at the home.
Investigators saw Kostaras staying at the back of the residence during the day and night as visitors arrived for brief meetings in a side shed or the driveway before departing, police said.
Based on these observations, investigators determined drug sales were likely occurring at the residence, which sits abutting an industrial park.

Between July and December, authorities allegedly arranged three controlled drug buys from Kostaras.
Police said the transactions resulted in the purchase of approximately four pounds of methamphetamine.

Laboratory testing conducted earlier in fall on the white solid substances recovered during those buys confirmed the presence of methamphetamine, according to investigators.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Kostaras’ home last Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators wrote in court papers that they recovered approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials.
Kostaras was preliminarily arraigned last Wednesday night before on-call District Judge Corryn Kronnagel. He is being held in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
