A morning fire damaged the exterior of a local condominium on Tuesday.

Firefighters were dispatched to a home on Sparrow Lane in the The Commons at Middletown around 9 a.m. for reports of a blaze.
Once they pulled up, crews discovered a fire that had originated in the cushions of a chair before spreading into the building’s exterior wall, Parkland Fire Company Chief TJ Stressman said
Firefighters had to open the wall to ensure the flames were extinguished.

“The fire was quickly out,” Stressman said.
The damage appeared contained to the chair and the outside wall of the unit.

The Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
The Parkland Fire Company was assisted at the scene by the Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Penndel Fire Company, and Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company.
