The crash occurred around 10 p.m. last Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police troopers who responded to a report of a collision.
A 2022 BMW 228I had been pulled completely onto the shoulder and grass due to a flat tire and was out of the highway’s travel lanes, according to a press release from state police.
A 2014 Toyota Rav4, which was driven by a 45-year-old Bensalem Township man, then struck the unoccupied BMW in the rear right corner, state police said.

The force of the impact pushed the Toyota into the median guide cables, and it became wedged, state police said.
Firefighters were called to the scene and had to cut the Toyota free to remove the driver, state police said.

The Bensalem man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad for treatment, state police said.
Both the Toyota and the BMW required towing from the scene.
State police said the driver of the Toyota will be cited in connection with the crash.
