

Two men were arrested at a self-storage center after allegedly breaking into a storage unit.

Officers were alerted at 10:29 p.m. on Nov. 21 to two suspects breaking into a unit at the Extra Space Storage on Lincoln Highway, according to the Falls Township Police Department.
A responding officer found a tan GMC van with an attached trailer parked outside the facility.
A man, later identified as 42-year-old Joshua R. Giles, of Lower Makefield Township, was seen moving items from the storage center to the vehicle, police said.

Officers entered the building and stopped Giles as he exited with several items.
He allegedly claimed to own the storage units and was simply moving property out.
A second man – 50-year-old Robert W. Potter Sr., who had no listed address – was found inside the facility, police said.

Potter was allegedly manipulating the lock on a separate storage unit.
The 50-year-old man was detained and told officers he was carrying a knife and also had a screwdriver, police said.
Officers found the chicken wire separating units had been cut, and a number of Pokémon cards were found resting atop the damaged wiring, police said.

The lock on a neighboring unit was also damaged and appeared to have been tampered with, police said.
The manager of the storage center informed police that Giles was “significantly behind” on payments and had not settled his debt despite attempts to collect.

Giles had previously been advised not to access the storage center due to past incidents, police noted.
Giles’ former unit was to be posted for auction, police said.
Police noted one unit at the facility had been emptied.

A glass smoking pipe with white powder residue was discovered in the van, according to police.
Giles and Potter were each charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, criminal trespassing, theft, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following their preliminary arraignment, both men are being held at the Bucks County Correction Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
