Around 10:22 a.m., a backhoe crashed through a temporary wall and caused a 20,000 pound piece of equipment used in an air conditioning system to shift, pinning a worker’s leg at the job site on Ben Fairless Drive in the Keystone Trade Center, according to reports.
The injured man was freed by workers using a forklift before rescue crews arrived, Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said.
The worker suffered serious injuries to the lower part of their body and was transported by Capital Health EMS to the trauma center in Trenton, Dippolito said.

In addition to police, ambulance crews, and the fire marshal’s office, the Falls Township and Morrisville fire companies responded.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is aware of the incident.
