Pennsylvania State Police said an autopsy is scheduled for Monday by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office on the remains of Robert Brown Kowalski.

The remains were discovered by a passerby on the path along canal behind the 8000 block of Woodside Drive in Falls Township’s Pennwood Crossing mobile home community, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi noted that Kowalski may have been experiencing homelessness, and investigators are still working to confirm his residence.

The investigation, which began Saturday afternoon and continued into the early evening, involved troopers and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rangers, according to an area resident.

State police’s Troop M Forensic Services Unit is leading the probe.

Falls Township police are assisting with the death investigation.

Court records indicate Kowalski was wanted by Falls Township police in connection with a Nov. 4 incident. The charges included evading arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, and other offenses.

Kowalski’s death is not connected to another death investigation that began Sunday after a body was found in the area of the canal in Lower Makefield Township.
