An investigation into a two-vehicle crash on New Falls Road on Tuesday is centered on the belief by investigators that it was a road-rage incident that involved a firearm and gunfire.

The incident happened at approximately 1:46 p.m. on Tuesday on New Falls Road near the Indian Creek Entry in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.
Police were initially dispatched to the area for a report of an armed subject who had shot at another person, according to a press release issued by the Bristol Township Police Department.
At the scene, officers found both the a motorcyclist and a Volvo driver at the scene, police said.
The front of the motorcycle split off due to the crash, and the Volvo involved in the collision suffered front-end damage.

The male motorcyclist and female Volvo driver were identified and provided statements to police, investigators said.
Bystanders reported that the motorcyclist was walking around after being evaluated by an ambulance crew. They were later transported from the scene by family.

Police confirmed that at least one shot was fired and that a gun has been recovered.
Bristol Township and Middletown Township police responded to the scene, and dispatchers advised responding fire and ambulance crews to be aware of police activity, sources said.
A detective was spotted taking a photo of what appeared to be a shell casing on New Falls Road, and another investigator had what appeared to be a firearm in an evidence bag.

No charges have been filed yet, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
As of 3:30 p.m., crash investigators were speaking with the motorcyclist and documenting the scene.
