Neshaminy High School had an increased police presence Friday morning.

The additional police officers at the high school in Middletown Township was a precaution administrators took following a recent off-campus incident between students, officials said.
School officials emphasized that students and staff were not in danger and the increased presence caused “no disruption to the regular school day.”
“Extra police were present at the school this morning as part of an investigation of an earlier incident between students that took place recently off campus,” Neshaminy School District spokesperson Chris Stanley told LevittownNow.com. “There was never a threat made to the high school.”

The increased police visibility was initiated “out of an abundance of caution,” Principal Stephen Garstka wrote in a note to parents.

Garstka thanked the school community for its cooperation.
“We appreciate the continued partnership of our school community in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment,” Garstka said. He also thanked parents for “promptly communicating any concerns that help us ensure the safety and well-being of all students.”
