Man Shot During Reported Dispute In Woods

Police are investigating after a man was shot Thursday night in a wooded area.

A was shot in an upper extremity Thursday night during a dispute in a wooded area of Falls Township, police said. No charges have been filed as the investigation remains active.

Falls Township police said officers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Morrisville section of the township after the 67-year-old Bristol Township man had been reported to have sustained a gunshot wound to an upper extremity.

The preliminary investigation, according to police, found the shooting occurred in a “deeply wooded” area off Pennsylvania Avenue where a 65-year-old man lived in a camper on the property.

Following the shooting, the wounded 67-year-old man exited the camper and went into the woods, police said.

Falls Township police and additional officers from Morrisville Borough, Lower Makefield Township, and Middletown Township established a perimeter in the area.

A shelter-in-place advisory was issued for those living nearby.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s aviation unit responded late in the night for a thermal image search of the wooded section, but it yielded no results, police said.

Falls Township Police Department Detective John Vella negotiated the return of the 65-year-old man to the scene after speaking with him on the phone.

The 67-year-old man is cooperated with investigators, police said.

The man with the gunshot wound was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with injuries described by police as non-life-threatening.

As of late Friday morning, no charges had been filed in the case.
