The Croydon Fire Company was dispatched around 8 p.m. to a home in the 900 block of Spencer Drive in the Croydon section of Bristol Township after a caller reported smoke and possible fire originating from a laundry area, according to Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon.

Tryon said that volunteer firefighters, who were out training when the call came in, were able to quickly reroute to the scene.

Tryon arrived to find smoke visible from the eves and the rear of the home.

Firefighters made quick work of the blaze and kept the bulk of the fire near the laundry room and the back of the residence, Tryon reported.

Tryon noted that hoarding conditions within the house slowed firefighting efforts.

All residents were home at the time the fire broke out, but no injuries were reported, Tryon confirmed.

Bristol Township Deputy Fire Marshal Alex DelVecchio determined the fire’s origin to be near the dryer.

The American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania is assisting the impacted family.
