Tesla has submitted permit applications to Middletown Township for a collision center, it’s second in Pennsylvania.

The electric car manufacturer, which is run by CEO Elon Musk, is seeking to use the 40,800-square-foot building at 2021 Cabot Boulevard West as a collision center.

The company would not sell vehicles from the property, according to Middletown Township Manager Eden Ratliff.

Township officials are currently reviewing the submitted permit applications.

Tesla did not comment on the plan.

The building, which previously housed ADT, is comprised of 28,500 square feet of office space and 12,300 square feet of warehouse space, according to marketing material from Colliers.

While the area currently has Tesla-approved collision and repair shops, the company’s other nearby locations are in New Jersey and Montgomery County.

Tesla also operates a service and sales center in Warminster Township.

Tesla was started by two engineers in 2003, and Musk was named CEO in 2008.

The publicly-traded company is among the most valuable based on market capitalization.

Tesla has been fighting a slump in sales this year, as the electric-vehicle market has become more competitive and the automaker has been hit with safety complaints. Musk’s politics have taken center stage, according to CNBC.

Correction: Tesla was started in in 2003, not 2023.
