Grundy Library Names New Director

The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library has promoted an employee to be the Bristol Borough library’s new executive director.

Megan Marks, who has eight years of experience in library management, has been appointed as the new director, the library announced Thursday.

Marks, who assumed the role of community services manager at the library in 2024, was promoted to associate director in January.

According to a news release, Marks led the library through a transition after the former director’s departure by expanding services, programming, and staff development.

“We commend Megan’s positive impact on both our team and the community, and for the dedication and enthusiasm she presents as a leader,” Eugene Williams, the executive director of the Grundy Foundation, said. “With Megan leading library services, our future looks very promising.”

Before her time at the Grundy Library, Marks worked as a branch manager with the Bucks County Free Library.

She recently earned a Master of Library and Information Science from Pennsylvania Western University.

Marks said she looks forward to continuing the library’s mission.

“Since last year, we have seen a surge in library usage, with a 50 percent increase in participation of our Summer Reading Program across all ages alone,” Marks said. “As we seek to innovate and expand our programs, I look forward to continuing the library’s mission and legacy as a vibrant, welcoming hub.”
