The blaze heavily damaged a home in the unit block of East Lane in the Levittown section of Falls Township.

The fire remained under investigation by the fire marshal and police, officials said.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito reported Tuesday that he is looking to speak with a woman in her 30s who was driving a red sedan. She reportedly stopped at the residence just as the fire erupted around 9:30 p.m.

A neighbor told investigators they briefly spoke with the woman, who may have additional information about the suspected firework, Dippolito said.

Dippolito said the woman is not a suspect but could provide important details for the ongoing investigation.

Fire crews found heavy flames coming from the house as they pulled up, officials said.

The residents had safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The homeowners attempted to extinguish the blaze but were forced to evacuate as it rapidly intensified, officials said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a firework discharged nearby entered through a front window and caused the fire, Dippolito said.

Police are also investigating the incident.
