Bristol Township police and Bucks County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched and officers found the rifle near the Penn Warner Club in Tullytown Borough after an extensive recovery operation, which included help from the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Law enforcement searched the greenbelts, wooded areas, and gardens.

K-9 Emma from the sheriff’s office helped locate the gun. Deputy Dale Walton is her handler.

Authorities spent much of Thursday morning and afternoon searching for the missing weapon, asking the public to contact 9-1-1 if they saw the gun in the Farmbrook, Greenbrook, and Kenwood sections.

Peter Tesno, 61, was taken into custody early Thursday morning, but his gun was not located, police said.

Bristol Township officers were dispatched at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday to a home on the unit block of Fawn Lane for a report of a domestic dispute.

According to police and court papers, Tesno came home “visibly intoxicated” and made threats to his family and others, including, “I could kill you right now.”

“There will be a shootout with law enforcement if they show up,” he also allegedly said.

A family member, who was later able to flee the residence, told police they heard what they believed was a rifle being readied.

Responding officers established a perimeter and issued a shelter-in-place order for the area.

The Bucks County South Emergency Response Team was activated and staged at Brookwood Elementary School before surrounding the home.

During the incident, two 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a man walking down the street with an AR-style rifle near the Kenwood section of Levittown.

Officers were unable to locate Tesno at his home and eventually made contact with him outside the containment perimeter, police said.

At the time of Tesno’s arrest, he was unarmed and taken into custody without incident, police said.
