Neshaminy Aims To Avoid Repeat Of Graduation Traffic Nightmare

Neshaminy High School and Middletown Township police are urging early arrival and patience for Wednesday’s graduation ceremony.

The district and police department are looking to avoid a repeat of last year’s traffic gridlock that left some families upset and waiting for hours.

The Class of 2025 is set to graduate at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police said they have undertaken steps manage the anticipated heavy traffic.

Parking at the high school will open at 4 p.m., and attendees are strongly urged to arrive in advance to secure a spot and ensure they don’t miss the ceremony.

“It is HIGHLY advised that you plan to be there early,” the Middletown Township Police Department stated in an advisory.

Last year’s graduation was marred by significant traffic delays, with some attendees reporting waits that nearly prevented them from seeing their students receive their diplomas.

The area around the high school is known for slow traffic on graduation night, and last year’s delays, prompted this year’s stepped-up planning by the district and police.

School officials will deploy “tons of event staff” to guide vehicles and increase parking efficiency, police said.

For residents and commuters in the vicinity of the high school, heavy traffic and delays are expected during both arrival and departure times.

“Thousands of cars will be coming and going and we will do our very best to keep things moving,” police said. “Numerous officers will be on scene directing traffic, so please pay close attention when driving near the high school.”
