The Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpike Bridge reopened shortly before midnight Monday.
A source said the man on the bridge was brought down safely.

The Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpike Bridge that connects Bristol Township to Burlington County, New Jersey, was closed Monday night due to an ongoing police incident.
Both lanes of the busy Turnpike bridge were shut down around 7:40 p.m. and into the night.
Sources reported a man on the span and appearing in distress.

A Turnpike spokesperson called the incident an “emergency situation” and said state police were handling the incident.
A TV news helicopter was spotted hovering over the scene as Pennsylvania State Police and state troopers managed the incident on the bridge.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike crews diverted traffic off the highway at Route 13. They directed drivers to the Burlington-Bristol Bridge as an alternative.
Several fire companies were dispatched to the water below the bridge.
