Berdnik has been hired as the new business administrator for the Palisades School District in Upper Bucks County.

The Palisades School Board voted to hire Berdnik at a public meeting last week.

The longtime school financial leader is expected to begin a five-year agreement on Aug. 18. His new salary was not disclosed.

Berdnik has served as Pennsbury’s CFO since 2019, overseeing the district’s finances through the COVID-19 pandemic and into a period of significant capital expenditures. The district is planning a new high school in Falls Township, a project expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars and lead to years of anticipated tax increases.

Prior to his time in Pennsbury, Berdnik worked for the Bensalem Township and Centennial school districts.

During his time at Pennsbury, he also led the high school’s speech and debate team.

Berdnik did not publicly state his reasons for leaving Pennsbury for the smaller Palisades.

“It’s been an honor to serve the Pennsbury School District,” Berdnik told LevittownNow.com. “I surely will miss my speech and debate students.”

Pennsbury spokesperson Jennifer Neill said the district will collaborate with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in its search for a new chief financial officer.
