Quashaad Rodney James, 29, entered his guilty plea before Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman via video.

Bateman imposed a sentence of 1.5 to six years behind bars and two years of probation.
James’ sentence will begin after he is paroled from a 20- to 40-year sentence he is currently serving for shooting and wounding two people in Philadelphia in early December 2020.

The Bucks County charges against James originated from his sworn testimony before the investigating grand jury, where he falsely identified another individual as Love’s killer. Bucks County Detectives investigated and confirmed the accused individual had no involvement in the crime, authorities said.
During the sentencing, Deputy District Attorney Brittney Kern stated that James’ lies on two separate occasions not only obstructed a homicide investigation but also wrongly implicated an innocent man.

The development follows the sentencing earlier this month of Kelvontae Nasheed Perry, 30, also of Bristol Township, who was convicted of third-degree murder in Love’s death at a bench trial.

Perry’s conviction in December came after a three-day bench trial where the court found him guilty of conspiring with another person to fatally shoot Love. He was also convicted of aggravated assault, firearms offenses, possession of an instrument of crime, possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.
Bateman sentenced Perry to 21.5 to 44 years in state prison.

The investigation revealed that Shaquille Love, 21, who was described by prosecutors as an innocent victim, was caught in the crossfire of a violent dispute between rival Bristol Township neighborhoods.

On Dec. 23, 2020, Love was giving a friend a ride when their vehicle encountered one driven by Perry and occupied by another individual. Loveโs passenger and Perry, along with his passenger, were associated with opposing neighborhood groups.

Evidence at Perryโs trial showed he intentionally followed Loveโs vehicle in his gold Lexus. As Loveโs passenger asked him to pull over to allow the Lexus to pass, Perry slowed, enabling his co-conspirator to fire a fatal gunshot at Love from the front passenger window before fleeing.
Love was found dead in the driverโs seat of his vehicle in the 1800 block of Edgely Road with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Testimony from two of Perry’s acquaintances said he admitted his involvement in the shooting.
The co-conspirator involved in the homicide has not been charged, prosecutors said.

In a 2021 public plea for information, Shauna Love, the victim’s mother, stated, โNo one had the right to walk up to his car and shoot him.โ
