The funding supported 26 grant proposals across all six schools in the district.

A achievement this year is that every school now has a functioning TV studio for delivering news and announcements to students and the wider community, the foundation announced.

Grants were also provided for initiatives that enhance classroom learning. This includes programs allowing students to study embryology by hatching chickens, engaging in classroom gardening through hydroponics, and supporting Harry S. Truman High School’s “Just One Life” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.

Over the past 40 years, it has funded approximately $500,000 in unique projects conceived and implemented by district employees.

The Foundation is operated entirely by volunteers, and its funding primarily comes from payroll contributions. The organization also plans to rejoin Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, which allows businesses to receive tax credits for their donations.

Individuals interested in supporting the Foundation through donations or volunteer work can contact Foundation President Joe Marlow by email at foundation@bristoltwpsd.org.
