SUV Flips, Snaps Utility Pole

A crash Monday morning in the Croydon section of Bristol Township resulted in a utility pole being snapped and Newportville Road being closed for several hours.

Readers reported the wreck occurred around 8 a.m. on Newportville Road, between Hilary and Dixon avenues.

An SUV flipped onto its side, shearing the pole, and scattering trash and debris across the scene.

PECO and Verizon crews responded to the location to repair the damaged utility pole.

Newportville Road was closed to traffic in the immediate area while crews worked. The road was reopened by late afternoon.

Bristol Township police had limited details available regarding the crash.
