

A Philadelphia man was arrested after police say he attempted to burglarize two homes in Bristol Township’s Levittown section last week.

Carl Johnson, 49, was arrested Thursday night after officers responded to a 9:03 p.m. call reporting a burglary in progress at a residence on Magnolia Drive, according to court papers.
The caller told police a man had entered her home and was attempting to gain further access, police said.
Upon arrival, officers spotted a man matching the description outside a neighboring Magnolia Drive residence and he was detained, police said.

The residents at the second home reported an attempted entry by the man, police said.
The initial caller told an officer she was watching television when she saw a pair of legs coming through her window. She then saw a man inside her home, entering an attached sun room, police said.

A “Private Property No Trespassing” sign was posted on the door of the home, police noted.
The woman stated she locked the door and called 9-1-1 as the man approached. She described the suspect as wearing a black knit hat and tan pants, according to police.
Johnson, who was wearing a black leather jacket, black knit hat and tan dress pants, was identified at the scene.

Johnson was charged with attempted burglary, burglary, criminal trespassing, and loitering and prowling at nighttime. Johnson was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Joseph Falcone and held on 10 percent of $125,000 bail.
