A large tourism and charter bus company will be relocating from Mercer County to Falls Township.

Starr Tours, a large tourism and charter bus company, will relocate its headquarters from Hamilton Township in Mercer County, New Jersey, to Falls Township, officials announced.
The Falls Township Board of Supervisors approved a conditional use Monday evening to transform a former Saturn dealership at 394 Lincoln Highway into the new headquarters. The 5-acre site is near the intersection with North Olds Boulevard.
Starr Tours owners Peter and Sandy Borowsky, who are residents of Lower Makefield Township, told the supervisors they sought to move the business closer to their home.

“Our tours go all over the country,” Peter Borowsky said, noting that the tour side makes up about 50 percent of their business.
The company also rents buses to groups, takes students on field trips, and provides transportation for school groups visiting the East Coast.

The site will not function as a transit facility, with buses entering and exiting at various times, according to the Borowskys.
Sandy Borowsky estimated a maximum of 15 vehicles parked on-site daily by tour participants. She noted there is no need to add spaces.
Starr Tours, which began in 1947 and has expanded through acquisitions and employs 100 full and part-time staff, including office personnel, tour directors and maintenance workers.

The company recently expanded its operations to Maryland and launched College Break Bus, which provides transportation for college and university students.
Visit Bucks County President and CEO Paul Bencivengo wrote a letter in support of the relocation to the township.

Bencivengo highlighted the company’s potential contribution to the local economy, noting that Bucks County welcomes 8.2 million visitors annually that generates $1.2 billion in economic impact and supports 28,675 hospitality employees.
“Continued economic development of Bucks County’s business community is real and important,” Bencivengo wrote.

Some tour attendees may use the Falls Township location as a pickup point, while others may join from various locations, including Mercer County, Philadelphia, and other Bucks County stops, Peter Borowsky said.
Site redevelopment plans include adding wash bays totaling approximately 500 square feet in addition to existing maintenance bays.

Attorney Ed Murphy, who is representing Starr Tours, told supervisors that site improvements would address lighting and traffic concerns.
Supervisor Chairman Jeff Dence said the relocation as “a great opportunity” and “a really great business.”
“It’s a really great business,” Dence said. “It’s going to be a good fit here in Falls Township.”
