Bicyclist Killed In Route 13 Hit-&-Run Crash

A bicyclist was struck and killed in a Sunday morning crash on Route 13 in Bristol Borough.

According to two emergency services sources, the hit-and-run crash happened on Route 13 between Bath Street and Commerce Circle just past midnight. Police, firefighters, and the Bucks County Rescue Squad were called to the scene.

The man was declared deceased at the scene, and the coroner’s office removed the body, a source said.

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi said the man had not yet been identified as of Tuesday.

Bristol Borough and Bristol Township police responded and closed the section of roadway as investigators documented the scene.

It was unclear if the striking vehicle was recovered and the driver identified.

Borough police were not immediately available for comment.

No charges were filed in the case as of Tuesday morning, according to the court records.

Route 13 is among the most dangerous roadways in the area for pedestrians, with a slew of fatal crashes over the years.

On May 13, a bicyclist was struck and suffered non-fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Route 13 outside the Golden Eagle Diner, according to DelawareValleyNews.com.
