Neshaminy Hires New Football Coach

March 13, 2025

The Neshaminy School Board has approved the hiring of Nicholas M. Felus as the new head varsity football coach for Neshaminy High School.

Felus will begin his new job in time for the 2025 season.

Felus comes to Neshaminy after a tenure as head football coach at Penn Cambria High School in Cambria County since 2019. This past season, Penn Cambria finished 14-1, winning its first district championship and advancing to the PIAA Class AAA state semifinal round.

Felus was named Coach of the Year by the Altoona Mirror and District 6 Coach of the Year by the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association.

Prior to Penn Cambria, Felus served as head coach at Altoona Area High School from 2016 to 2019 and as offensive coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at Coatesville Area High School from 2009 to 2016.

Felus, a 1996 graduate of Penn Cambria High School, holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from West Virginia University. Felus has also worked as a high school and elementary classroom teacher in the Coatesville Area School District and as an athletic training and development specialist.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Nicholas Felus as the new head coach of the Neshaminy football program,” said Neshaminy High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Lisa Pennington. “With his passion, leadership, and dedication to the game, we are excited for the future of our team under his guidance.”

Pennington added, “Coach Felus brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence that will inspire our players both on and off the field. We look forward to seeing the hard work, determination, and success that lie ahead. I ask our community to join me in offering him and his family a warm Neshaminy welcome to Heartbreak Ridge.”

Felus replaces Steve Wilmot, who resigned Jan. 23 after 20 years as an assistant coach and 10 years as head coach at Neshaminy High School in Middletown Township.
