Coach Steve Wilmot announced his resignation last Thursday and said the timing felt right to step down.
Wilmot, who also serves as a science teacher at the Middletown Township high school, has been a key figure in the Neshaminy football community for decades. He served first as an assistant coach for 20 years and then took the reins as head coach in 2015 following Coach Mike Frederick’s departure.
“It was not a decision that was easy to make,” Wilmot stated in his resignation letter. “There are not many places in the State of Pennsylvania that are better to coach.”

Thank You!
Today I am stepping down after to years of being the head coach of the Neshaminy High School Football Team. It was not a decision that was easy to make. There are not many, places in the State of Pennsylvania that are better to coach. The community has an unconditional love for this program. Redskin Nation is the best student section around. The Neshaminy administration trusted me to do my job and gave me any support I needed. Parents within the program trusted me with their children to teach them to be great football players and great young men at the same time. The last ten years were a blur, filled with great and rewarding memories.
Thank you to my family, especially my wife Jen, for supporting me on the home front. Without your support. I would not have been able to do this. I had the joy of coaching my stepson Shane and son Jason. I am thrilled that you got to experience this journey with me.
Thank you to the `N-Club” and especially the N-Club presidents. The selfless time you put in to making the players experience second to none will always be appreciated.

Thank you to Neshaminy High School. This includes the administration, the teachers. and the support staff: This team always went above and beyond the call of duty for myself and the players on the team. There are a lot of people in this district that bleed scarlet and blue!
Thank you to my assistant coaches. You guys were part of my extended family. Teaching football is a big part part of the job, but teaching players how to be great young men is a bigger part, and you were phenomenal 2t that. You guys were an inspiration to me and the players that played for you. While I wish I had time to mention them all. Neil French deserves special thanks for being there every step of the way, setting high expectations on and off the field and going above and beyond to help me and the players at Neshaminy.

And most of all. Thank You to all the players over the past to years. We celebrated, we cried. we grew together and had the time of our life doing it. Watching each and every player grow up in the three or four years in the program will always be remembered, even over the greatest wins. The relationship we’ve made will forever be cherished.
Time Will Never Dim the Glory of the Redskins!
Coach Wilmot
