Crews were dispatched to the Harper’s Crossing complex off Big Oak Road around 4:30 p.m. after maintenance workers reported smoke coming from a balcony, said Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry.

At the scene, firefighters searched the multi-story building and found the fire was located in exterior columns encased in siding and in the building’s soffit, Farry said.
Firefighters pulled open the siding and soffit to extinguish the blaze.

“It was stubborn because the crews had to do a lot of overhaul to get to where the fire was,” Farry said.
The bulk of the damage was contained to the building’s exterior, he said.
