Sources said the worker was killed inside the hull of a ship that was hauling sugar to the port, which is operated by Kinder Morgan.
Police stated the man was “struck by a digging bucket which was excavating sugar from the hull of a docked ship.”
The man killed was a 26-year-old Bristol Borough resident working for Kinder Morgan, police said.

“Early this morning, an employee fatality occurred at Kinder Morgan’s Fairless Hills Terminal in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. Our thoughts are with the employee’s family and our employees following this event. The incident is under investigation. There are no ongoing impacts to operations,” a statement from Kinder Morgan said.
It wasn’t confirmed what ship the fatal incident happened on, but public data showed the 590-foot-long Ricarda and 620-foot-long Genco Picardy bulk carriers were docked there as of Monday morning.
