The Bucks County Rangers, who are responsible for patrolling county parks and land, were dispatched to County Way and Library Lane in Bristol Township just before 1:45 p.m. on Monday, November 18, after a Bucks County Emergency Services security officer reported a problem.
According to the security officer’s report, a man had fallen, gotten into a Ford vehicle, crashed into large rocks, and fled to another area of the county property near Five Points.
At the scene, rangers found the 31-year-old man in his vehicle near the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office warehouse near Queen Anne Park. His head was down, and rangers noted that his speech was slurred and his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.

The man reportedly told law enforcement he was “not safe to drive.”
The man exited the vehicle but had difficulty standing. He refused to perform a field sobriety test, according to rangers.

Bristol Township police arrived to assist county law enforcement at the scene.
The man was handcuffed after stumbling toward the driver’s door, and he was carried to a patrol car due to his inability to stand, rangers said.
Authorities said the man admitted to consuming alcohol and resisted a portable breath test.

During his transport to St. Mary Medical Center, he reportedly was yelling and speaking incoherently and had to be moved in a wheelchair at the Middletown Township hospital, rangers said.
The man refused further testing, cursed at officers, and declined to cooperate as he was read PennDOT declarations, rangers said.
