$1.3 Million Headed To Area For Park & Drainage Upgrades

Two projects in the area will soon benefit from funding provided through the Pennsylvania Local Share Account program.

The state money is directed at upgrading local infrastructure and recreational facilities, according the offices of State Rep. Joe Hogan, a Republican from Middletown Township, and State Sen. Frank Farry, a Republican from Langhorne Borough.

Langhorne Manor Borough is set to receive $348,826 for crucial drainage improvements. The funds will be used to replace outdated drainage swales along West Prospect Avenue, between Station Avenue and Hulmeville Avenue, with modern infiltration trenches designed to better manage stormwater and reduce runoff.

Middletown Township has been awarded $1 million to complete lighting upgrades at Community Park. This project includes the installation of new lighting systems at the park’s skate park, two soccer fields, and a baseball field, enhancing safety and extending usability into the evening hours.

The funding announcements were made earlier this week by the lawmakers.

“I am thrilled to see this grant money come through for projects in the district,” said Hogan. “All of these projects help improve the quality of life for the citizens of these areas and will help lower Bucks continue to be a great place to live and grow a family.”

“I’m pleased to have helped secure funding for these important projects in the district. Each addresses a critical need and will greatly benefit our community for years to come.” said Farry.

The grants are allocated through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) as part of the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), which directs a portion of gaming revenues to support public interest projects throughout Pennsylvania.
