At 8 a.m., store manager Jim DeAndrea cut the ribbon, and the first customer in line was rewarded with a $100 Amazon gift card. The following 99 customers enjoyed gift cards ranging from $5 to $15, while others received Amazon Fresh tote bags.

The store boasts the latest brick-and-mortar design first seen in Chicago and Southern California, according to an Amazon Fresh spokesperson.

“We’re thrilled to open our newest Amazon Fresh grocery store right here in Oxford Valley. This opening invites customers in Bucks County to experience grocery shopping with Amazon Fresh, both in-store and online. We’re excited for customers to see our wide selection of national brands, high-quality produce, and curated array of their favorite local items and fresh-prepared meals. Our team is proud to continue expanding in Pennsylvania and build new relationships with our customers and important local organizations in the area like Philabundance.” said Lionel Triplett, regional manager for Amazon Fresh.

Aside from regular grocery store offerings, it also offers prepared foods, a deli, produce area, and a section for beer and wine.

One customer, Mary from Bristol Township, shared her experience with the Amazon Dash Cart.

“You have to link your phone from the Amazon shopping app to it and it scans the barcode when you put [merchandise] in the cart,” she explained. “[Amazon Fresh staff] helped me get it set up, and I haven’t had trouble.”

The Middletown Township location is the fourth Amazon Fresh store in Pennsylvania and third in Bucks County, with a store in Warrington Township opening in 2021 and a Bensalem Township location opening in summer.
