A Bristol woman faces charges following an altercation last week in a Bucks County-owned parking garage, police said.

The incident occurred last Tuesday at the Bucks County Parking Garage on Union Street in Doylestown Borough, according to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as a 38-year-old woman from Bristol, who reportedly tried to initiate a verbal exchange with a person she knew.
When the attempt was ignored, the 38-year-old woman allegedly escalated the confrontation by grabbing the victim’s shirt, tearing it, and striking the victim twice in the face, police said.

The victim suffered facial swelling, redness, and scratches on the neck and back, police said.
Following the incident, the 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken into custody.

The Bristol woman was preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Stacy Wertman on charges of simple assault and harassment. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
