Bristol Township Council has greenlit a proposal for the construction of six new townhomes in the township’s Croydon section.

Last week, the council approved both preliminary and final land development plans for JRZ LLC., which is tied to Zober Industries Inc.
The council also agreed to a zoning change for part of the property from commercial to residential to facilitate the new construction at the property in the 600 block of Coventry Avenue at Second Avenue, which is adjacent to Zober Industries Inc.
The approved plan includes two buildings, each containing three townhomes.

The new development will incorporate two underground stormwater basins and provide additional parking for both the townhomes and the existing commercial buildings on the site, according to Attorney Michael Meginniss, who represents the developer.
Plans also include the demolition of two existing homes on the property—one currently rented and the other vacant for several years. However, a two-car garage and two small commercial buildings on the site will remain untouched.

Furthermore, the developer plans to request that the township convert Coventry Avenue in the area of the development into a one-way street to better manage traffic flow, Meginniss added.
The approval follows a recommendation of the Bristol Township Planning Commission in December
The Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board granted several variances required for the project last spring.
