At 4:32 p.m., officers from Bristol Township were dispatched to a residence on Ivy Hill Road in the Levittown section for a reported stabbing. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad had responded initially for a psychiatric emergency and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

According to police, Emily Ann Rizzo, 32, of Levittown, had stabbed her mother in the house.

Officers located Rizzo in a room, where she was found face down, shouting incoherently about the devil, police said.

Despite repeated commands from police, Rizzo failed to comply and was forcibly removed from a bed and handcuffed, police said.

Authorities reported that Rizzo resisted arrest and had to be carried from the house while continuing to yell about God and Satan, and threatening to kill everyone, police said.

A family member disclosed that Rizzo had returned home high on methamphetamine and began shouting before the stabbing, police said.

She reportedly made a threat against her own life and grabbed a steak knife.

During a struggle over the knife, Rizzo’s mother was stabbed, police said.

The family managed to secure the knife until authorities arrived.

Rizzo’s mother was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital for a wound to her neck, four to her torso, and one to her right leg, police said.
