The closure will impact the segment of Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road in Bristol Township.

The closure will start on Tuesday, July 9, and continue through Wednesday, July 17.

During the closure period, Newportville Road will be closed around the clock and detours will reroute drivers via Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Drivers have been advised to plan for additional travel time due to potential backups and delays in the vicinity of the construction area.

The road closure is part of a larger initiative to widen and reconstruct a segment of the Pennsylvania Turnpike stretching from Bensalem Boulevard to the I-95 flyover.

The project aims to expand this section from four to six lanes and includes the construction of infrastructure for future highway connections, new sound barriers, and enhanced stormwater management facilities, according to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

The ongoing work in Bristol and Bensalem townships is part of the Turnpike Commissionโ€™s $1 billion modernization plan intended to overhaul the decades-old highway system in Lower Bucks County.
