Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Falls Twp. Collision

A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash involving two sedans at the intersection in Falls Township on Friday afternoon.

Falls Township police responded to the scene at the intersection of Woolston Drive and Makefield Road at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the 60-year-old Lower Makefield Township man who had been operating the motorcycle on the side of the roadway with serious injuries, police said.

He was transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township for treatment.

The operators of the two sedans involved in the collision remained at the scene and are cooperating with officers, police said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcyclist was traveling on Woolston Drive when a 76-year-old Lower Makefield Township man driving a sedan attempted to turn onto Makefield Road. As the sedan turned, the motorcycle struck the passenger side, causing the motorcyclist to travel over the vehicle and land in the roadway. The sedan then rolled into another vehicle stopped at a stop sign.

Authorities stated that speed, intoxication, or a medical emergency do not appear to be factors in the collision.
