Firefighters were called to a home on Buttonwood Lane in the Levittown section of Falls Township around 5 p.m. following reports of a garage fire.
At the scene, crews encountered a well-involved garage fire with flames that had spread to an adjacent jeep in the driveway, officials said.
The fire spread from the garage’s attached walls and was quickly tackled by firefighters, said Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito.

The residents were present when the fire broke out and caught on to the smell of smoke. They found the garage engulfed in flames, with fire lapping against the walls. One of the residents managed to use fire extinguishers until help arrived, Dippolito said.
Two cats were in the home during the fire, and one cat died at the scene. The other received emergency treatment from firefighters and was taken to a veterinary facility for further care, Dippolito said.

The fire marshal noted that it appeared the fire originated near a workbench in the garage and may have been ignited by a lithium-ion battery.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury and received medical treatment, Dippolito said.
The Fairless Hills, Falls Township, Levittown No. 1, Levittown No. 2, and Morrisville fire companies, along with the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, responded to the scene.
