Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Crash On Route 13

A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday afternoon when they were struck by a car along Route 13, according to police.

The crash happened at 4:26 p.m. at the intersection of Route 13 and Newportville Road in the Croydon section of Bristol Township.

“The preliminary investigation shows that a black 2008 Toyota Solara was traveling east on southbound Route 13 approaching the intersection with Newportville Road. A 38-year-old man was running south southbound on Newportville Road attempting to cross Route 13. The  Solara collided with the pedestrian in the eastbound lane of Route 13,” police said.

The 38-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia by the Bucks County Rescue Squad, police said.

The area around Route 13 and Newportville Road was closed to traffic for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation.

The Bucks County Rescue Squad, Croydon Fire Company, and Bristol Township Fire Police assisted at the scene.
