

Many residents in Falls Township’s Levittown section received a shelter-in-place message on their phones late Wednesday night.

LevittownNow.com readers reported that a text came through just past 11:40 p.m.
“Falls Township has issued a shelter-in-place order due to police activity. Lock all doors and move to a central and secure location away from windows,” the message read.

A follow-up message was issued around 1 a.m. Thursday that stated the shelter-in-place order was lifted.

Police said there was an incident in the neighborhood and vowed to release more information.
Law enforcement sources told this news organization the incident was related to a dispatched domestic incident on Village Lane. A gun was reported to have been used.

Officers from Falls Township swarmed the Vermillion Hills neighborhood to search for the male suspect, the sources said.
Neighbors said they spotted a number of police vehicles and officers with weapons out as they searched Vermillion Hills.
As of 8 a.m., it did not appear that any charges had been filed related to the incident.
