It’s not uncommon for police departments to post photos of missing dogs that need help finding their homes. But on Thursday morning, the Middletown Township Police Department had a different kind of lost pet post.

The Middletown Township Police Department was asking on Facebook for the public’s help to locate the owner of a snake that recently found its way into a Levittown home.

Police posted on Facebook that the unexpected visitor had slithered into a residence in the Lower Orchard neighborhood. The snake’s presence was not welcomed by the homeowner.

“I can tell you that the resident was less than excited about the intrusion,” police posted.

Officers were eager to return the reptile to its rightful owner.

They stated: “Let us know if it belongs to you, cause there is ZERO chance we want to keep it around any longer than necessary.”

The police department has asked anyone with information about the snake’s owner to contact them.
